Cultural Tourism in Tanzania
Meet the Maasai, the Datoga, the Hadzabe and the people of Kilimanjaro: language, traditions and daily life.
Cultural tours invite you to discover the language, traditions and daily life of Tanzania's many communities: busy markets, traditional dances, storytelling and seasonal events that reflect a rich heritage.
Highlights include time with Maasai pastoralists, Datoga blacksmiths and Hadzabe hunters, among the more than 120 peoples of Tanzania. In the Cultural Tourism Program around Arusha, local people organise and run small tourism projects and the income goes to community projects.
Many cultural trips combine village visits with game drives or walking safaris in the Ngorongoro highlands, and a visit can be added to almost any safari.
