About Ruaha National Park
A remote park in central Tanzania known for large lion prides, elephants and the Great Ruaha River, far from the northern crowds.
Ruaha National Park is one of the largest national parks in Tanzania, in the dry heart of the country. The Great Ruaha River runs through rugged country of baobabs, rocky hills and open woodland.
It receives far fewer visitors than the northern parks, which gives a remote, uncrowded safari feel.

Frequently asked questions
Is Ruaha suitable for a first safari?
It can be, if you value space and quiet. The northern circuit is easier for first-timers who want the Serengeti and Ngorongoro.
