
Nungwi lies at the northern tip of Zanzibar and Kendwa a little further down the north-west coast. Both have wide white-sand beaches, and the sea is generally deep enough to swim at all times of the tide, unlike on parts of the east coast.
Sunset dhow cruises leave from Nungwi and Kendwa, and the area has a wide choice of hotels, restaurants and beach bars.
