Day by day
- Day 1
Goma to the summit
Drive to the Kibati ranger post and hike four to six hours to the summit, 3,470 metres high. Spend the evening watching the lava lake and sleep in a small shelter on the rim.
- Day 2
Summit to Goma
Watch the sunrise over the Virunga volcanoes and Lake Kivu, then hike down and return to Goma.
