A first safari is easier than it looks. Here is what a typical day and a typical trip look like.
A typical day
- Early start, often with a game drive at sunrise when predators are most active
- Breakfast, then a morning drive or a visit to a waterhole
- A midday rest at the lodge or a picnic lunch
- An afternoon drive until sunset, then dinner
Your vehicle
We use private 4x4 vehicles with a pop-up roof, and every guest has a window seat. Groups are small, usually 1 to 7 guests.
How long?
Four to six days is a good length for a first safari in the north. Our 6 Days Safari to Serengeti and Tarangire is a classic, and the 4 Days Safari to Serengeti and Ngorongoro suits travellers short on time.
What to bring
Binoculars, a camera, layers for the morning and a hat. See our packing guide.
